Event Information:

Sharon Stowers, Professor of Sociology & Anthropology at HCC, presents this look at women in the US workforce by the millions during World War II. Here in Maryland, many of them worked in defense plants and at military bases, like Aberdeen Proving Ground. Women worked as typists and computers, assembled and labeled bombs, sewed parachutes and gas masks, and so much more. Share your family stories, and listen to the stories of others in our community.
