Lecture by Kacy Rohn, Community Development Coordinator for College Park, MD Maryland was not among the 36 states whose ratification of the 19th Amendment affirmed women’s suffrage as part of the Constitution, and was unable to ratify until 1941. That does not mean, though, that there was minimal activity by suffragists in Maryland; indeed, proximity to Washington D.C. in some ways made it ground zero. Historic preservationist and community planner Kacy Rohn researched suffrage activities in Maryland, and with the support of Maryland Historic Trust, created a Story Map of important people, places, and events.
Limited seating. Reservation strongly recommended. Reservations: haysheighe@harford.edu or (443) 412-2539 Schedule updates: www.harford.edu/hays-heighe-house Campus map: www.harford.edu/about/campus-tours-and-events/campus-map.aspx
