Join us for the opening of the exhibit! Take a leisurely tour or go on one of the Curator Walks at 2pm or 4pm to get an inside look at this exhibit that was inspired by the campaign for women’s suffrage in the United States, the 100th anniversary of the final pushes in the Senate for the 19th Amendment, and the national ratification of women’s right to vote. Votes for Women, co-curated by Stephanie Hallock, Professor of Political Science and Coordinator for Global Education & Engagement, HCC and Gina Calia-Lotz, Instructional Services Librarian, HCC, explores women's expansion into politics, considers the changing understandings of civic virtue, and reveals difficult choices that political movements must make in pursuit of their goals. Throughout, it highlights topics with a contemporary resonance. Exhibit on view: Thursday, February 7, 2019 through Saturday, June 1, 2019 Free and open to the public.
